As photographers, we know what golden hour is.
It’s that precious hour surrounding sunup and sunset when the light is magic and the whole world transforms. Wonderful reflections, warm tones and wide smiles.
I have a cadre of friends who, like me, love to go shoot sunsets over the water at nearby Jacobson Park in Lexington KY. On this night I was catching the fading of the sun as it headed to rest when a heron decided it was time for him to find a place to rest as well. He was perfectly silhouetted against a bit of the golden fadings when I saw him gliding and captured that moment in time.
There have been many more spectacular nights over the water and some of them are shown here or will be once I make them. But this was just a display of being at the right place, at the right time, with the right settings, the right lens, the right…
Well, you get the idea. It was a right nice night.
