Snowy days and Sundays always make me smile..

Apologies to the Carpenters, but snowy days are beautiful days, and often that hike out in the wood is on a Sunday.

So… there ya go!

This was taken in 2014 and I saw it on my screen saver today and revisited the shot.

Really loved everything going on it, but more than that, it’s the mood of the shot that I really like.

This was taken on the second hike Ruth and I took together, along a chilly Red River Gorge stream.  There was ice coating rocks and roots, and pockets of snow here and there.  It made for a wonderful hike with the cameras staying quite busy.

The more I shoot, the more I look for wonderful colors and patterns on the forest floor.  There is just so much going on with the various fungi, flowers, leaves, insects and so much more.   One could spend a day just looking at a couple of dozen square feet and have a memory card full of images and a mind full of wonderful memories.
